Key accountabilities

  • Projection & Budget: Planning, preparation & coordination. Consolidation of presentation decks for local and HQ review. HQ point of contact. Ownership of process and proactive in managing achievement of deadlines. Close working with Country Controller’s organisation to support achievement of Country Controller and FP&A goals. Requires understanding of impact of FP&A activities on legal entity.

  • Financial close: Coordination of FP&A month-end actions. Includes accurate close, Sales and BUC confirmations and commentaries, full P&L review, PVE analysis. Proactive liaison with Country Controller’s team for month-end activities. HQ point of contact.

  • Headcount: Reconciliation, tracking, planning and reporting. Ensuring full understanding of headcount status and plans, working closely with business partners across the UK & Ireland organisation to ensure awareness and alignment.

  • Eliquis: Business partner to Eliquis commercial and medical teams and Pfizer; ensuring accuracy of actual and plans for full P&L including Alliance P&L; single point of contact for all Finance-related queries and actions; developing financial and system understanding and skills of Business Partners.

  • PPRS (UK Pharmaceutical Price Regulation Scheme) & HSE rebates (Ireland): Ensuring understanding of government pricing schemes and impact on business.

  • Raising & implementing enhancements and new ideas to improve processes, support simplification and drive performance (team and business partners).

  • Subject matter expert within the Finance team for relevant technical aspects of FP&A systems (including SAP and Hyperion) and FP&A processes.

  • Reporting line: Reports to Associate Director Finance Innovative Medicines. No direct reports but responsible for coordinating activities across the FP&A team.

Expected Areas of Competence ( i.e., skills and abilities) :

  • High level of communication skills. Able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation (including verbal, presentation, written). Good understanding and appreciation of the balance between detailed analysis and high level overview and able to communicate accordingly.

  • Project management skills to ensure timely and accurate completion of key annual projects (including Projection & Budget). Takes ownership of deadlines and actions.

  • Works independently on routine matters e.g. liaising with external auditors, month end reporting.

  • Able to work accurately and quickly, including under times of pressure. Plans effectively to identify tasks and resources required; develops realistic schedules and monitors accordingly. Actively makes and reviews contingency plans, adjusting as required to ensure all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Solves problems using appropriate resources.

  • Produces quality reports including appropriate analysis, and makes suitable recommendations.

  • Actively demonstrates teamwork to ensure openness and candour in the Finance department.

  • Constantly seeks better and innovative ways to produce routine reports and analysis to improve efficiency within the department.

  • Applies technical knowledge gained from formal training to the workplace and supports team members to do the same.

  • Proactively builds strong working relationships across the organization to support sharing of best practice.

  • Able to appreciate the challenges faced by Business Partners within the area of Finance, and to provide the appropriate support in a suitable way.
