Bristol Myers Squibb IT Business Partner, Commercial IT Digital Innovation in Princeton, New Jersey

The IT Business Partner for Commercial IT Innovation is accountable for supporting the strategic planning and delivery of digital innovation capabilities for Commercial and BMS through the active participation in enterprise wide digital innovation initiatives. The individual will primarily partner with Worldwide Commercialization, Commercial, Medical, R&D business units and IT Plan, Build, and Run partners on a project-by-project basis to deliver a portfolio of digital innovation pilots and proof of concepts (POCs) with a focus on driving an improved customer experience; including patient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with other IT Business Partners to manage the relationship with members of WWC and Innovation leads across Commercial, Medical, and R&D.

  • Responsible for informing and driving a portfolio of pilots and POCs and longer term view (i.e. 24 months) on how transformational technology will add value to the BMS Commercial organization while keeping an enterprise-wide mindset.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day project leadership of a subset of Commercial IT Innovation pilots and POCs. As project lead;

  • Demonstrate matrix leadership of IT resources in other IT functions: responsible for ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services. Key matrix IT functions include: enterprise architecture, user experience, lean digital COE, web and mobile applications and information & data management.

  • Responsible for the development of pilot and POC scale-up recommendations; including business case development, stakeholder alignment, and endorsement.

  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and operation of the Digital Capability Governance process. Demonstrate the ability to identify high value differentiating capabilities when making digital capability platform choices.

  • Externally sense and scan for innovative technologies and digital capabilities aligned to business challenges / needs.

  • Facilitate the Commercial IT Innovation Working Group including ensuring team member alignment, visibility, and informing the Innovation Accelerator to identify opportunities to streamline efforts in the innovation process and link ideas across the organization.

Position Requirements:

  • College degree or Master’s Degree

  • 7-10+ years of Experience preferred

  • Strong business knowledge with proven leadership abilities

  • Possesses familiarity with and awareness of the Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Capable of working cooperatively across boundaries and within a matrix to achieve results.

  • Ability to deliver complex systems to one or multiple geographies and business units.

  • Experienced in information technology and management, project and portfolio assessment, planning, systems development and business case development

  • Demonstrates strong influencing skills with key partners across the region.

  • Ability to contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of enterprise digital capabilities for commercial business units in multiple geographies.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with senior business leaders.

  • Strong ability and comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilities. Matrix management includes business partners as well as multiple IT capability leaders.

  • Network in the digital health ecosystems.

  • Ability to scan technical landscape for leading edge digital health business solutions and creates business case for support and application, including level of effort/ cost required to implement solutions / services, and facilitating risk assessments.

  • External partner management experience

  • Must have Biotech/Pharma/ Bio-Pharma or Digital Health experience .

  • Financial experience with budget management and business case development

  • Experience implementing digital capabilities in pharmaceutical sales, marketing or access business units. Preferably in multiple geographies

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
