Bristol Myers Squibb Head, IT Strategic Investment Planning in Princeton, New Jersey

This position provides the vision and leadership for integrating and prioritizing investment demand into a comprehensive IT Investment portfolio coherent with the IT strategy and the enterprise wide priorities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Partners with IT Leadership and business unit leaders to define yearly investment needs and 3 years capabilities roadmaps.

  • Facilitates the prioritization of investments and measures their outcomes in a continuous basis.

  • Supports these investments in a hands-on manner by defining, developing and implementing the necessary processes.

  • Ensures that investment outcomes are defined, measured and accomplished in line with business objectives.

  • Working with the ITLT integrates and analyzes the needs of different business units and proposes prioritization following investment spend, risk & opportunities and long term run cost impact.

  • Ensures the overall alignment of the l IT activities to the enterprise-wide business needs by coordinating regular information to the ITLT and the Business Advisory council.

  • Facilitates the creation of high quality business cases and 3 year capabilities roadmaps

  • As an IT leader, the director must have the ability to inspire commitment across the ITLT; this includes but is not limited to: developing and communicating logical and convincing justifications, including lessons learned.

  • Builds diverse, high-performing teams that accomplish organizational goals.

  • Serves as an advocate for proactive planning and continuous improvement; sets and communicates clear and aligned goals, monitors progress, and accepts accountability.

Desired Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with senior business leaders.

  • Strong financial experience with budget management and business case development.

  • Strong Portfolio Management experience ideally in the Pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong experience with governance operations and demonstrated ability to evaluate the need to respond in a timely fashion with the strategic investments being made at the enterprise level.

  • Strong ability and comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilities. Matrix management includes business partners as well as multiple IT capability leaders.

  • Ability to manage business process analysis and improvement including benefit estimation and post implementation metrics.

  • Ability to lead dynamically and energize multi-discipline work teams to learn and apply new skills/techniques to respond to business needs

Other qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and Years of Experience preferred

  • 15+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong business knowledge with proven leadership abilities and excellent executive presence

  • Possesses familiarity with and awareness of the Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Capable of working cooperatively across boundaries and within a matrix to achieve results.

  • Ability to deliver complex systems to one or multiple geographies and business units.

  • Experienced in information technology and management, project and portfolio assessment, planning, systems development and business case development

  • Demonstrates strong influencing skills with key partners.
