Bristol Myers Squibb Head IT Business Partner, Commercial IT Digital Innovation in Princeton, New Jersey
This position is the senior business partner accountable for strategic planning and delivery of digital innovation capabilities for Commercial and BMS through the active exploration of external opportunities and participation in the enterprise wide digital innovation initiatives. The role will partner with Worldwide Commercialization, Commercial business units, Analytics, Medical, IT, the Digital Health program and the external ecosystem partners to identify opportunities and execute a portfolio of pilots and proof of concepts. Co-lead the enterprise Innovation Accelerator with Commercial and R&D to proactively select, explore and test the impact that new technologies may have internally and externally. Generate step change proposals for how digital and digitization new technologies will drive new models, profitability and enhance customer experience. The role will engage the appropriate IT and global matrix teams to provide expertise for delivery. Key member of the enterprise digital health office who drives the exploration of new digital health areas related to customer experience including sensing, scouting, prioritizing opportunity areas for BMS, and embedding digital health into company and commercial strategy.
Responsible to maintain and grow the connection between BMS and the Digital Health ecosystem thru proactive exploration of start-ups and healthcare disruptors.
Responsible for the strategic planning of innovative commercial digital capabilities worldwide. The strategic planning will have a primary focus on commercial IT capabilities related to digital innovations and digital health and will support actively the enterprise wide digital health program.
Responsible for delivering a portfolio or pilots/POCs and longer-term view (24-36 months) on how transformational technology will add value to the BMS Commercial organization while keeping enterprise wide mindset to support the digital health program. As needed, scale capabilities from pilot, develop comprehensive business case and to support new capabilities.
Responsible for developing strategic and collaborative partnerships with senior leaders in Commercial, BI&A, Strategic Planning, IT and other functions as needed. Ability to become the trusted partner and advisor on topics related to Commercial IT Innovation and Digital Health by demonstrating deep domain knowledge of the commercial business and external digital healthcare landscape.
Responsible for the communication, implementation and operation of the Digital Capability Governance process related to Commercial IT Innovation and to maintain the coordination with the enterprise Digital health program. Demonstrate the ability to identify high value, differentiating capabilities when selecting vendors and platforms.
Demonstrate matrix leadership of IT resources in other IT functions: responsible for ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services. Key matrix IT functions include: enterprise architecture, user experience, lean digital COE, web and mobile applications and information & data management.
Develop and implement innovation process & governance for commercial IT (including collaboration working group) and integrate into Innovation Accelerator process that hopes to streamline the innovation process and links ideas across the organization, ultimately allowing us to better connect with our customers.
Master’s Degree and Years of Experience preferred (15+ years)
Strong business knowledge with proven leadership abilities
Possesses familiarity with and awareness of the Pharmaceutical Industry
Capable of working cooperatively across boundaries and within a matrix to achieve results.
Ability to deliver complex systems to one or multiple geographies and business units.
Experienced in information technology and management, project and portfolio assessment, planning, systems development and business case development
Demonstrates strong influencing skills with key partners across the region.
Ability to lead the strategic planning and implementation of enterprise digital capabilities for commercial business units in multiple geographies.
Thought leader with demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with senior business leaders.
Strong ability and comfort with matrix management in delivering digital capabilities. Matrix management includes business partners as well as multiple IT capability leaders.
Proven strong network in the digital health ecosystems.
Ability to scan technical landscape for leading edge digital health business solutions and creates business case for support and application, including level of effort/ cost required to implement solutions / services, and facilitating risk assessments.
Strong External partner management skills
Must have Biotech/Pharma/ Bio-Pharma or Digital Health experience.
