Provide strategic leadership and data expertise to the development teams, with a focus on delivering high quality, reliable clinical trial information to support the execution of clinical programs/protocols across all phases of development. May be responsible for overseeing direct reports accountable for data management deliverables.
Drives overall program level strategy with program governance teams (i.e. Data EDT/CDT) to ensure data is handled consistently from startup through database lock - communicates timelines, resource needs, priorities and other information vital to the efficient conduct of the program.
Central point of contact for data related deliverables, issues, challenges, risks and mitigations for a program(s) or asset.
Accountable for the development of program level standards including program-level case report forms and CRF instructions, Data Management Plans, and data review documents.
Oversees the effective use of data management information and system tools for data and report retrieval, data listing review, error detection and production of standard displays to ensure quality data.
As part of the Clinical Data Management Senior Management team, identifies opportunities, and implements solutions to globalize and standardize methods, processes, procedures, systems and templates
Evaluates resource gaps and creates headcount requests and justification
Selects, manages, develops/coaches direct reports if applicable
Represents Clinical Data Management on cross-departmental projects and initiatives and other ad hoc multidisciplinary teams as required. Contributes to developing strategies for and implementing ongoing improvements within Data Management. Selects/ manages multiple vendor relationships
Coordinates staff meetings and other team discussion forums; promotes agenda topics and discussion. Ensures that meeting agendas are aligned with area information and decision requirements
Evaluates development and training needs; implements training
Direct line management for Protocol Data Managers (PDMs) if applicable
Bachelors Degree required - 5+ years DM experience
