Bristol Myers Squibb Site Engineering Project Manager in New Brunswick, New Jersey

As the Site Engineering Project Manager you are responsible for developing and implementing a broad range of projects (R&D and administrative facilities) designed to support growth, productivity and operational improvements for the broad BMS Research customer base.

The project manager will be responsible for multiple, concurrent projects and may at times manage internal and/or external resources to execute the work.

The project manager is responsible to lead project design and implementation teams and must develop working relationships with various governmental agencies as required to obtain necessary construction, operating permits and approvals.

The position requires direct interaction and communication with customers on job status and the ability to maintain excellent customer relations with: BMS management, staff, technical, financial and user group personnel to establish overall project objectives and define the scope of work.

Responsibilities also include all administrative facets of the project such as: budgeting, capital and expense forecasting, project execution strategies, material and contractor service procurement, design coordination, change / scope control and field construction management.

The qualified candidate will have the following background:

  • Degree in architecture or engineering with 5-10 years’ experience required.

  • Experience as a Project Manager preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical/biotech experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong skills in: team building and problem solving, project team leadership, and negotiation skills are required.

  • Broad technical knowledge of facility operations, and engineering preferred.

  • High level of communications skills, writing and presentation skills expected.

  • Must possess: creativity, open mindedness, and a positive attitude to work in a dynamic operating culture.

  • Knowledge of GMPs, GLPs, AAALAC Regulations, Building Codes and ADA, and OSHA Regulations required.

  • Strong project Management skills for a broad range of: design, operations, maintenance, energy and construction related projects.

  • Proven experience in managing engineering resources both internal and external.

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of programming, design development, scheduling, construction management, estimating and project financial controls.
