The department of Parenteral Science and Technology within Drug Product Science & Technology, Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to be part of Drug Product Development Analytics (DPDA) group at the New Brunswick site, New Jersey. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for hands-on execution of analytical studies to support formulation and process development, investigation/characterization, and other development activities of protein therapeutics at all stages of clinical development as well as commercial. This individual should have demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in protein and biologics related analytical techniques that will be applied for understanding of protein degradation mechanisms. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and is expected to present scientific data at internal and external meetings.


  • PhD with 1-5 years, or MS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical/biotechnology.

  • Demonstrated skills and proficiency in chromatography (HPLC/UPLC) and capillary electrophoresis (iCIEF, CE-SDS, CE-LIF) techniques including operation, maintenance and trouble shooting.

  • Hands-on experience in developing IEX, HIC, LC/MS methods for protein characterization are highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with biophysical techniques, including MFI, FlowCam, DSC, and DLS, is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal are required. Ability to work independently and deliver results within project specific timelines.

  • Ability to effectively interface and collaborate with multi-discipline teams in a highly-paced analytical laboratory environment.

  • Design, follow and review protocols, scientific methods, and departmental procedures; Organize and interpret scientific data.
