Responsibilities

Conduct characterization studies on new drug candidates to define biophysical and chemical properties using different analytical tools.

Develop parenteral dosage forms for clinical and commercial use

Participate in identification and development of suitable compositions for toxicology studies

Conduct process development, optimization and scale-up studies

Generate data for regulatory filings

Participate on project teams to assure successful drug product technology transfer to clinical manufacturing and commercial sites

Issue periodic reports and assure compliance of laboratory environment, electronic laboratory notebook and work generated with corporate and regulatory guidelines

Participate on appropriate project teams

Design and execute research and experimental plans with minimal supervision

Integrate and interpret research data and present data conclusions as appropriate at various project meetings

Plan and schedule daily laboratory activities to meet established project timelines

Qualifications

3 years of experience or MS with 5-7 years of experience with degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bioengineering or Chemical Engineering or related disciplines

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of protein structure, chemistry, and stability

Knowledge of fundamental principles of pharmaceutical science essential for the development of injectable dosage forms of small molecule, protein and peptide therapeutics.

Solid understanding of protein and peptide chemistry and organic chemistry

Experience in design, execution and interpretation of data from a well designed formulation experiments

Hands on experience with various biophysical and analytical tools used for characterization and development

Basic understanding of lyophilization and scale-up of protein-peptide injectable dosage forms to clinical or commercial manufacturing sites is preferred

Team player with good interpersonal skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

Hands on computer skills and knowledge of statistics

Knowledge and experience in the area of drug delivery is preferred
