Summary:

The Knowledge Manager is responsible to support the development and deployment of the BMS Global Product Development & Supply Organization Knowledge Management Strategy. The role will be responsible for performing a knowledge management assessment and the analyzing the data to identify and prioritize opportunities across the organization where Knowledge Management strategies can be applied. The role will provide input into the creation of an overall Knowledge Management Strategy and then develop and lead the execution of the plans across the organization. A key part of the strategy will include the development and deployment of a standard Best Practice/lessons learned process with search capabilities. It will also be critical to align with the IT organization in identifying and utilizing existing Knowledge Management tools. Sustainability of the strategy will be accomplished through developing and executing plans to build Knowledge Management into our culture. This role will also be responsible for supporting the development of Change Management capabilities across the organization as well as supporting the deployment of the Operational Excellence strategy and related initiatives.

Job Responsibilities/Expected Areas of Competence

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist the Director of Knowledge Management in the development and implementation of the Knowledge Management strategy and Knowledge Roadmap

  • Develop the assessment plans, interview relevant stakeholders and assess processes to identify existing Knowledge Management processes and gaps

  • Analyze assessment data to identify and prioritize areas of business risk that can be addressed through the application of Knowledge Management strategies

  • Support the activities to gain cross-functional alignment and resource support for the Knowledge Management strategy

  • Create and execute plans to improve the management and flow of knowledge assets and to ensure those assets are easily accessible for sharing and learning

  • Establish and manage a standard process for capturing and sharing Lessons Learned & Best Practices

  • Partner with IT to determine an approach for leveraging existing BMS tools for Knowledge Management

  • Develop and execute plans to better incorporate Knowledge Management practices into the culture to help build a “Learning Organization”

  • Partner with OpEx & PMO teams as well as others to ensure KM practices are embedded in existing and new processes

  • Support the development of Change Management Capabilities across the organization

  • Support the deployment of the Operational Excellence strategy and related initiatives

Experiences Desired

  • Experience in Knowledge Management, process and data analysis

  • Project Management experience implementing and supporting process and tool deployments along with the related Change Management activities

  • Experience interviewing individuals at all levels, business process analysis and reporting

  • Experience working collaboratively across a complex matrix organization

  • Strong SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management skills desired.

Knowledge Desired

  • Bachelor's degrees

  • 5+ years working in a Biologics/Pharmaceutical organization preferred

  • Familiarity with core business concepts, business and operations management

  • Project Management & Change Management concepts and practices

  • Robust Knowledge Management concepts and practices

  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma Concepts and Project & Portfolio Management processes and tool

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities and interpersonal skills
