Bristol Myers Squibb Inventory Optimization Analyst in New Brunswick, New Jersey

As an Inventory Optimization Analyst, you will join our global inventory management team that has responsibilities for assessing and recommending appropriate inventory targets to ensure uninterrupted supply of our medicines to the patients we serve. You will develop models and methodologies to appropriately size inventories for different risks and then work with our supply chain professionals to apply these to the unique supply networks for each of our products. This is a challenging and important role where your activities will include:

  • Working with supply chain planners, strategic product leads and other key stakeholders periodically refreshing and implementing our business continuity inventory strategy across all levels of the supply chain.

  • Executing a monthly process for refreshing statistically derived safety stocks and final safety stocks for our drug products, drug substances, APIs, and key strategic raw materials.

  • Supporting our annual inventory budget and projection process and associated monthly reporting activities.

  • Continually refining and implementing methodologies and algorithms for determining business continuity inventory strategy and statistical safety stocks that appropriately balance supply risk with cost.

  • In partnership with process stewards, improving the process and controls for managing and refreshing business continuity inventory strategy and monthly refresh of statistical safety stocks at the drug product and API/drug substance levels.

  • Assisting with change management to align key stakeholders to process and roles and responsibilities.

  • In conjunction with IT, defining and implementing sustainable technology to support the development and execution of business continuity inventory strategy and safety stocks. Assume super user responsibilities for maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement to the application/system.

  • Together with Product Data Management, implementing appropriate processes and metrics to ensure data quality and timeliness regarding the key inputs for calculating business continuity inventory strategy and statistical safety stocks.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationship with supply chain planners, strategic product leads, and other key stakeholders.

  • Responding to inquiries and ad hoc requests from inventory management team members, supply planning teams and other key supply chain stakeholders for assistance in executing inventory analyses.

  • Monitoring compliance to target inventory levels across the supply chain.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate B.S. Degree or equivalent, preferably in Supply Chain Management. M.B.A. with focus in Supply Chain Management is preferred.

  • Demonstrated advanced Excel skills along with the ability to effectively use MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

  • 3+ years Supply and/or Inventory Planning experience for a global Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Consumer company utilizing world class planning and execution processes and systems.

  • Demonstrated experience where critical thinking and problem solving skills were critical to success.

  • A proven self-starter able to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, cross-functional team based environment.

  • An ability to cultivate and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with both team members and colleagues across the corporate enterprise.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Prior evidence working in a matrixed organization.

  • Experience utilizing SAP BI, SAP ECC PP, PP-PI, and MM and advanced planning applications such as Kinaxis Rapid Response preferred.

  • Lean six sigma certification (Black or Green belt) preferred.
