Bristol Myers Squibb GPS Indirect Services Category Manager in New Brunswick, New Jersey
The Indirect Services Category Lead (Manager) will partner across the BMS enterprise to drive Category Sourcing Strategies for Real Estate, Facilities Management and Logistics. The position will drive the selection of Preferred Suppliers, establish MSAs, buying channels, buying enablement for Real Estate, Facilities Management and Logistics categories. The Category Lead will also lead SRM development and execution with Class 1 and select Class 2 suppliers in the indirect space. This position will also support negotiations Landlords/RE Brokers (who in turn would facilitate sale of properties, tenant/building improvements, and capital projects globally), with IFM/FM service providers and Logistics suppliers. The Category Manager will enable workplace strategies for BMS and leveraging data in the IFM/RE space both internally and externally. This position will also be responsible for managing services adjacent to RE (e.g. Child Care Facilities).
The position requires strong business acumen and operational alignment with key business partners and with GP category leads in Facilities Management, Logistics, Engineering and Construction. The Indirect Services Category Lead must display excellent communication skills to all internal stakeholders, senior leadership and suppliers.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Active Business Partner engagement and relationship development
Active development and strategic sourcing of Real Estate, Facilities Management and Logistics categories capitalizing on transformational opportunities
Drive Project Team decision making of the contract award recommendations
Develop and review MSA, Statements of Work, performance terms, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Facilities Management, Real Estate and Logistics projects
Develop sourcing strategy for the various services in scope, prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations and proposals with relevant specifications/requirements, terms and conditions.
Evaluate competitive bids to determine the best overall value
Negotiate and/or issue contracts and service orders, obtaining legal and finance approvals when required.
Review procurement practices to ensure policy compliance
Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop, and manage internal and external relationships with suppliers, cross-functional and/or multi-functional teams with regard to the following:
Manage all preferred suppliers using the Supplier Relationship Management methodology for the various categories
Coordinate evaluations to determine supplier performance using rating systems and/or predetermined standards.
Schedule and drive meetings with supplier(s) selected for the SRM program
Prepare for and develop negotiations strategies
Understand supplier capabilities and how they fit in BMS’ company strategy
Conduct negotiations with incumbent and new potential suppliers to obtain maximum value.
Coordinate, review and respond to supplier inquiries
Identify and develop the use of diverse suppliers in the RE Category
Sourcing & Technology:
Utilize the Ariba Procure to Pay platform and work with the SP&O GP team to optimize the process
Implement and maintain required systems, files/archives and databases of project execution
Collaborate with finance to capture and report savings and Value beyond savings
Enable Buy@BMS for the categories in scope
Management & Organization:
Develop strategic plans and objectives.
Develop goals and objectives in alignment with Business Partners.
Develop a plan to staff a site procurement team when the timing is right to align with the project
Develop a multiyear CI Savings Plan for the RE Category

Suppliers Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Business, Engineering or technical equivalent
Minimum of 6 years of work experience
Minimum of 2 years procurement or relevant experience
Internal stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills
Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within company.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Must have a strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management
Procurement process knowledge, category management, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier management, technology utilization and strategic planningPreferred Qualifications:
Category Management experience
Subject matter expertise in Commercial Real Estate transactions
Prior Real Estate procurement experience is highly preferred
