Bristol Myers Squibb Medical Science Manager in FIELD, Switzerland

We are currently seeking a talented Medical Science Manager Cardiovascular Switzerland to join our team. In this role he / she will be serving as a core interface between various functions. The Medical Science Manager will act in the field as a primary medical contact and expert for health care professionals and will develop and maintain contacts with international, national, and local experts. By championing team spirit with passion and drive, he / she will be part of an energetic team advancing our activities in the cardiovascular area and advocating better quality of life for patients.

The Medical Science Manager Cardiovascular Switzerland will play a pivotal role engaging with external stakeholders, local and global medical, as well as cross-functional colleagues. This role is primarily field-based and has a reporting line through the medical function.

In order to enable success in the role, key areas of focus will include:

  • Collaborate with brand team members and sales force to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs), developing and maintain contacts with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

  • Champion scientific communication with HCPs for the designated therapeutic area to ensure safe and appropriate use of innovative BMS cardiovascular medicines through face to face exchange and group presentations. Drive stepwise evolution of treatment paradigms.

  • Respond to scientific questions and requests posed by HCPs.

  • Support HCPs’ optimal treatment of patients by translating science into practice.

  • Support scientific exchange by providing up-to-date information on BMS compounds on request.

  • Organize and conduct local or regional medical education events in collaboration with

  • HCPs and related stakeholders.

  • Support the execution of the Local Medical Plan in close collaboration with the scientific advisor.

  • Partner with sales force teams by acting as a reference point for any medical questions they may have. Train the sales team on disease area and product knowledge.

  • Actively contribute to the development of Brand Plans and Strategies through cross-functional and multi-disciplinary collaboration within the Brand Team.

  • Provide scientific support at promotional meetings by presenting scientific data.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, Msc) required.

  • Possess experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a related industry.

  • Cardiovascular experience or experience having worked with cardiologists or angiologists is of advantage.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand patterns of medical practice.

  • Be able to grasp science quickly - be a quick learner.

  • Be comfortable communicating and presenting scientific and / or clinical data to HCPs.

  • Be concise and concrete in approach.

  • Experience translating scientific or clinical data into compelling messages to HCPs.

  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills is a must.

  • Be able to work independently in a field based role.

  • This field medical position entails also a considerable travel activity.

  • Be highly proficient in German / French and English with the ability to work comfortably in French / German.
