A typical day might include the following:
Accountable for performance of all Regional Transportation operations (including warehousing steps where appropriate) from any API to finish product movements across the internal and external network until the reception at in-market DCs/Hubs
Perform on-going transportation network optimization to timely support the agility, customer focus and cost effectiveness principles of distributing BMS products across the EMEAI region
Influences and collaborates with Procurement, TPM’s, Plant Sites, Regional Logistics colleagues, Customs & Trade, Regulatory, Quality, Security, EHS, Commercial, External partners and many others in the effective and efficient deployment of logistics capabilities across all warehousing operations and all transportation modes and temperature ranges
Collaborations with In-Market Logistics Lead and Distribution Managers/Analysts in the development and implementation of appropriate Warehousing and Secondary transportation processes and SOPs to be implemented in the in-market Logistics Distribution network
Manage regional Supplier relationships with Regional transportation service providers to leverage their regional technological capabilities. Perform benchmarking with biopharma, pharma and non-pharma companies to gain access to the latest market innovations to maintain BMS position of Leading from the Front
Lead Strategic review/changes of Regional Transportation contracts, ops manuals, SOPs, GDP compliance, and business reviews on a strategic level in collaboration with the appropriate colleagues in the Global Transportation organization
In collaboration with the Demand and Supply Planning, Regulatory, Quality, EHS, Security, Tax, Customs & Trade, Legal teams, understand the specificities of the early development of the products and influence the configuration, when possible, to minimize the transportation costs
Leads monitoring of regional internal SLAs and Metric and leads effective coordination of communication to Region/Markets regarding primary Transportation performance in alignment with Global transportation roles
Leads the implementation and significantly contributes to Control Tower strategies
Leads issue resolution on all Regional Primary Transportation shipments. Leads the issue resolution of Shipments to another region that were originated in EMEAI and contributes/collaborates to issues resolution of shipments originated in a different region that have EMEAI as a destination or transit point
Drives and consolidates budgeting, reporting, audits as per BMS requirements and business processes at the regional level
Liaises with In-market Logistics Solutions and In-Market Distribution Lead for the development of innovative Logistics Solutions both in primary and secondary distribution as well as in Warehousing processes both at regional as well as in-market/hub level
Representative for the region in BMS, SC, Quality and other Regional/Global forums

Language skills and travel flexibility required
Undergraduate degree preferably in Supply Chain Management / Logistics
Advanced degree, diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management/Logistics and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Required: 7+ years of Supply Chain or Logistics Management experience for a reputed, global Pharmaceutical or similar product profile company. 3+ years should be in positions of management
Required: Significant knowledge and best practice experience working with strategic logistical service providers for global Logistics solutions, especially in the field of transportation or network optimization, setting the Customer at the center of the processes
Required to have 3+ year experience of interaction with external partners
Required to have good knowledge of the Guidelines on GDP of medicinal products for human use and of the EU Directives on the wholesale distribution of medicinal products for Human use
Strongly Preferred: Experience in developing and implementing world class, global logistics processes and managing them through deployment and into a sustained operation model while maintaining Customer satisfaction.
Must have excellent communication skills and foster open communication within the organization: particular focus on team collaboration and knowledge sharing
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, especially in building highly effective, world class, global cross-functional teams
