The Scientist for Biologics Process Development group will work hands-on in cell culture laboratories, participating in a cross functional team involved in the development, optimization and scale up of biologic manufacturing processes. Primary duties will be to design and optimize mammalian cell culture process and employ statistical tools or mechanistic understanding of cell physiology to drive improvements in titer yields and protein quality attributes. The scientist will have a role in assessing and introducing innovative technologies for monitoring cell culture physiology. The scientist will be engaged in a cross functional team to translate cell culture process from the development lab to GMP manufacturing, and conducting studies that supports initial drug application (IND) and biologics licensing approval (BLA) . The scientist will be expected to establish a close collaboration with development Pilot Plant, Analytical Development & Testing and Manufacturing Operations personnel.
Qualifications and skill sets:
-M.S. or PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, chemical/biochemical engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 4+ years of industry and/or academic experience.
Motivated individual who can work independently as well as collaborate in a team matrix environment
Good track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of analyzing large-scale datasets through multivariate analysis is a plus.
Knowledge of protein biochemistry, molecular/biology assays and -omics analysis is a plus.
