Bristol Myers Squibb Quality Lab Materials Planner in Devens, Massachusetts
POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Lab Materials Planner role is a key function to support Manufacturing Operations, by positioning as a liaison between Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain Materials Planning to drive material management and release needs amongst the Devens site.
Serves as coordinator of the end to end material release process for incoming materials required to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. Assist with planning capacity of resources, including equipment, for Quality laboratories. Communicates through visual management the workload and identification of receiving, sampling, testing, release capacity and resource needs. Serves as contact person for raw material and consumable release priorities for Devens Manufacturing. Collaborates with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality staff to ensure utilization of data, systems, and interfaces optimize efficiency and cGMP compliance. Strong utilization of applicable SAP reporting functions to manage material release process. Interfaces with all levels of the organization, including scientists, engineers, team managers, administrative staff, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and OpEx Team. Demonstrates leadership and change management skills. Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information, and develop and implement solutions. Develops and supports material related KPIs. Speaks clearly. Writes clearly. Possesses good listening skills. Demonstrates high ethics and values.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, etc:
Highly proficient in SAP and Planning functions. Understanding of lab testing methods (quality control), knowledge of lean methodology, and cGMP. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and LIMS; high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint. Preferences Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology. Lean Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt experience preferred. Professional (CPIM, CSCP APICS) certification is desirable.
2-4 years of work-related experience in Supply Chain, Quality or Manufacturing with emphasis in Production Planning/ Scheduling, Materials Analysis, and Inventory Control. Knowledge of and experience with SAP required. General understanding of typical end-to-end planning and material management functions. High proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, LIMS, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project are highly preferred. Knowledge of cGMP’s, Federal and State regulatory requirements, Company policies/procedures, and documentation practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities against ambitious timelines.
Physical Demands: Physical exertion may be required including sitting, standing, Repetitive (Use of Arm, Hands, Wrists), and walking while working for sustained periods.
