Bristol Myers Squibb Upstream Bioprocess Associate in Cruiserath, Ireland

Bristol-Myers Squibb has built a new state-of-the-art Multi-Product Cell Culture biologics manufacturing facility in Cruiserath, Dublin 15, approximately a $1 billion investment. Once commissioned, the new facility will significantly increase Bristol-Myers Squibb’s biologics manufacturing capacity and play a central role in its global manufacturing network.

BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit a permanent Upstream Bioprocess Associate within the Manufacturing Operations group. Reporting to the shift lead, this role will be a 24/7 shift role initially and will involve the commissioning and qualification of the process equipment and then supporting the ongoing manufacturing operation of the facility.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Working with the manufacturing operations group, the CQV team, & the Automation/CSV reps to facilitate the implementation of the project design and validation of the MPCC – Multi Products Cell Culture manufacturing facility.

  • Creation of operating procedures & other relevant documentation for large scale manufacturing

  • Execution of commercial manufacturing processes according to established work instructions.

  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Takes part in investigations and optimisations of processes using scientific, engineering and lean principles

  • Operates all production equipment within the assigned functional area

  • Effectively uses process automation systems (i.e. Delta V and Syncade Interactions, OSI/Pi Historian) and some supporting business systems (i.e. SAP. Trackwise, Maximo etc.).

  • Assists with reviewing batch and exception reports for each manufacturing lot in conjunction with Quality representative and provide input to related investigations and QA audit activities.

  • Engages in and supports culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through ownership of improvement for work processes, equipment and safe work environment.

This job might be for you if:

  • You hold a Bachelor in Engineering/ Science related subject

  • You have minimum 3 to 4 years of experience working in a biologics manufacturing facility, with specific cell culture experience being a distinct advantage.

  • You are available to work on 24/7 shift

  • You have knowledge and compliance of the Good Manufacturing Practice and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • You have an ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

  • You have problem solving ability and to adhere to scheduled timelines.
