Seeking qualified (academia, biotech or pharma industry experienced) Research scientist II in the Immunoscience biology-translational discovery department to conduct flow cytometric analysis to enhance translational immunology for portfolio projects.

Job Description:

The Immunoscience biology-translational discovery group at Bristol-Myers Squibb is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative scientist to join a dynamic group conducting research aimed to increase translational research for drug discovery projects covering autoimmunity and immuno-oncology. This position will specialize in flow cytometric analysis of human cells from normal healthy volunteers or from patients e.g. T cells, myeloid cells, NK cells. The position will require the individual to be collaborative across other functional groups within the Discovery Research organization. Meticulous record keeping, excellent understanding in immunology, and a strong background in flow-cytometry analysis/cell sorting are must have requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Flow cytometric analysis of human immune cells (e.g. T cells, B cells, myeloid cells, co-culture assays and other primary cells);

  • Enrichment of immune cells from tissues of disease origin/or healthy samples;

  • Flow-cytometry based cell sorting to acquire purified population to conduct in vitro functional assays;

  • Amnis Imagestream based imaging flow-cytometry;

  • Expertise with analysis of biological results by interpretation and presentation of the data in a group, project teams and departmental presentation settings.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with 4-7 years of experience or Master's degree with 2-4 years of work experience (in academic, biotech or pharma industry). Strong expertise in Flow cytometry is needed;

  • Extensive experience in working with primary and expanded human cells;

  • Experience in multi-parametric flow cytometry analysis using BD, Sony and Biorad platforms. E.g. BD Fortessa, Sony Spectral analyzer, Biorad S3. Awareness of Amnis Imagestream platform;

  • The individual should be organized and be comfortable working independently as well as in a group setting, preparing summary presentations, and participating in project meetings/discussions as required.
