Within the Belux BMS Market Access department related to the Pricing & Reimbursement discipline we are looking for a:

HOSPITAL ACCESS MANAGER

Location: Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium

The mission of the Hospital Access Manager is to help to create, shape and execute pricing and access strategies that guarantee and optimize access in hospitals for all BMS brands.

This includes, continuous close contacts with key hospital stakeholders, preparing hospital access strategies based on field and business insights, negotiations of contracts with key customers, applications to tenders and follow up.

This person will be the access key contact to hospitals and stakeholders for all access related questions and will closely work together with BMS stakeholders.

With the changing hospital environment (new decision models, professionalization, increased number of tenders and negotiations), the Hospital Access Manager will be a key contributor in the Belgian team. The function reports directly to the Pricing & Hospital Access Coordination Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify and establish contact with the key stakeholders for access in the hospitals

  • Be the key contact person for hospitals on access matters (tenders, negotiations, pricing)

  • Gather all relevant information to minimize business risks and to guarantee access in hospitals

  • Perform a continuous analysis of access situation in different hospitals.

  • Identify hospital access challenges and opportunities (tenders, negotiations,…)

  • Work out hospital access policy in strong collaboration with BMS stakeholders

  • Tender and Negotiation lead, in line with BMS guidelines

  • FU and Integration of the different contracts with hospitals

  • Have a strong communication network towards all stakeholders, intern- and externally

  • Inform internal stakeholders on changes in hospital financing, flat pricing, hospital organization,…

  • Strongly collaborate with all relevant teams

PV responsibilities:

Promptly report knowledge (initial or follow-up) of any adverse event associated with a BMS product within 24 hours or one business day of becoming aware of the event, in accordance with BMS Company procedures

Qualifications:

Desired Experiences:

  • Experience in the hospital environment

  • Experience in Key Account management

  • Demonstrated capability to develop strong relationships with different stakeholders

  • Demonstrated capability to analyze and have a solution oriented approach

  • Experience in effectively and persuasively articulating complex issues to key decision makers

  • Able to demonstrate strong capabilities to work in a complex matrix structure with different functions and brands

  • Experience in the business negotiations and group presentations is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work across diverse cultural, social, political boundaries

Desired Knowledge:

  • Fluent in native – French/Dutch - language (written and oral) and good understanding of the non-native language. Good knowledge of English

  • Fluent use of Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Word, Adobe and Internet

  • Minimum 5 years successful experience as hospital representative or equivalent experience in an hospital environment

  • High degree of curiosity in the hospital business

  • Knowledge of Hospital environment

  • Cross functional working capabilities.

  • Excellent (verbal & written) communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build partnerships with customers and with colleagues

  • Be able to balance “listening and understanding” with “communicating in line with strategic choices, and legal, financial decisions”
